the woman sawed in half
Book, Lyrics & Story: Chiara M. N.
Music & Story: Tess Edwards
The Woman Sawed in Half takes place between the worlds of Vaudeville and an underground magic club in NYC, 1920. After discovering new and daring forms of magic, and realizing how much her potential has been limited, a young magician’s assistant named Lillian takes the leap to pursue her own form of magic as a solo performer. With the encouragement of an amateur magician named Arthur and the abrasive mentorship of a strong woman named Reesa, Lillian uses her magic to conceptualize what it means to be a woman split in two between her dreams and the restrictions of societal standards.
